How fast can I have my translation delivered?

An experienced translator can produce from 8 to 10 pages per day (assuming that a conventional page contains 250 words). Knowing the word count in your text you can calculate how fast one translator can complete the job. Some translators claim to be capable of translating 25 and more pages a day. This means that they either use machine translation (MT) or share your order with other translators, causing adverse implications in terms of quality and confidentiality.
Keep in mind that a translator has to proofread his or her translation again before handing it over to the client or editor. This proofreading is necessary in order to find and fix errors and inaccuracies. The standard performance of 8 to10 pages a day (from 2000 to 2500 words a day) takes this effort into account.
If a high quality translation cannot be done in the given time by one translator then a translation company arranges a team that includes a few translators and an editor. This raises the issue or terminological and lexical consistency. The editor in the team is responsible for solution of this problem.
In our practice the client sets the deadline. It is a rare case when a client sets an unrealistic deadline and even in such circumstances a solution can be found. To comply with the scheduled delivery requirements we use optimal planning, 7/24 operation, real-time editing and our proprietary means of consistency assurance. With this we guarantee deadline compliance with a 5 minutes precision. For 15 years of operation our company never missed a deadline.
